- Introducing new StarBoard Conference, an all-in-one realization of remote conferencing with tablet plasma model P-50XN/T-15XL -
HitachiSoft (Takeo Ogawa, Representative Executing Officer and President, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) has developed two new types of interactive electronic StarBoard, P-50XN and T-15XL, which support digital presentations, IT conferences, and IT classes more effectively and efficiently; StarBoard Software with sharply strengthened presentation support functions, and StarBoard Conference that can realize remote conferencing with simple operation by integrating StarBoard and PC-TV Conference. The new products will be marketed worldwide from April this year in Japan, Europe, North America, and Asia.
As information is electronized to full-scale, presentations, conferences, and educational classes are developing rapidly by using digital data. Now one of the important factors for a successful program is the smooth transmission of information by effectively utilizing digital content, not only in conferences and presentation meetings of enterprises of course, but also in school classes and various seminars. Also, as network infrastructures become enhanced, there is a growing demand for carrying on communication with remote points more actively. Accordingly, HitachiSoft has been marketing StarBoards as a support tool for more effective and easy to understand information transfer in all sorts of locations and scenes. It has thus far provided the market with a total of over 20,000 units.
This company has developed optional packages for smoother application to remote conferences in addition to two new products of the 50-plasma display type and the 15-liquid crystal tablet type. Moreover, it will start marketing an upgraded version of the software for still easier use. The tablet type T-15XL has become more compact and lightweight for ease of handling at enterprises and schools. The plasma type P-50XN can display images on PC screens with high clarity, ideal for reviewing drawings and CAD data on high precision screens. The new StarBoard Conference package will offer TV conferencing at a low cost and easy installation of remote conferencing in combination with the StarBoard. The software integrates conventional functions, simultaneously improving user interface extensively. Presentation support functions have also been drastically strengthened. Enhanced linkage with electronic data created with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint has made this software easier to use.
1. Product Features(1) T-15XL
Compact design of 345 mm W x 295 mm H makes it ideal for using on a lectern, a teachers desk, or in other limited space.
2) Wide angle of visibility for ease of viewing
XGA compatible 15-type TFT liquid crystal display offers a wide angle of visibility with a high performance contrast ratio of 400:1 and an intensity of 250 cd/m2. It presents clear images of high resolution, photographed with a digital camera.
3) Easy-to-use electronic pen
Fountain -type electronic pen writes smoothly on the display as if writing in a notebook. An eraser function can be used promptly with a side button. Also, high-speed coordinate reading reproduces prompt entry with accuracy. The pen writes with a spontaneous touch and enters characters smoothly.
(2) P-50XN
Installed with DVI interface, the high accuracy plasma display presents very fine and clear display elements on a PC screen. This device outputs clear images of CAD drawings and other data for reviewing.
2) Easy operation with fingertip or electronic pen
This device is operated with an electronic pen, handwriting, or the fingertips. It can be used as a touch-panel or an IT notice board.
3) High picture quality plasma display
The presentation has more impact by displaying not only PC material data but also DVD and video images on a high vision compatible plasma display.
(3) StarBoard Conference
This company has thus far proposed a remote conferencing function by combining StarBoard with a TV conference device. This time it has added a PC-TV conference function to the StarBoard, enabling users to easily introduce remote conferences at a reasonable price. To do this, the user makes separate arrangements for web cameras, etc. for the PC and combines them with the StarBoard in a simple operation.
(4) StarBoard Software
Newly added functions incorporate Word and Excel data with ease and manage the data individually. The software has sharply enhanced functions for better incorporation of PowerPoint than conventional versions. In addition to a smooth animation effect, it supports a link function and movie reproduction function. Also, a laser pointer pen has been newly added. Users can operate it with the same ease as operating a laser pointer frequently used for presentations.
2) Drastic improvement of user interface
An Intuitive and easy to understand operating sequence has been realized by integrating conventional functions. Users can add necessary function buttons to the tool bar, like the pen you constantly use. These buttons can be registered to a personal profile and your own setting can be stored for calling at any time
