- Prevents Disclosure of Office Document Information from Web Contents -
In July 2004, HitachiSoft (Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. based in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo with Takeo Ogawa as the CEO and president) will start marketing of the "Hibun AE WebGuard" to protect Intranet contents, HTML/MS Office/Acrobat documents, and image information. As a countermeasure against disclosure of customer information that has become a serious social problem, a new product is added to the "Hibun Advanced Edition" series to protect the customer information in Web contents. The "Hibun Advanced Edition" is the best-selling security software series for which 250,000 licenses have already been contracted mainly with the banking and other public corporations. The "Hibun Advanced Edition" has been providing the client PC file security functions such as enciphering, carrying-out control and access control, with "no disclosure through carrying-out", "no carrying-out" and "protection by access control" as the main concept. On June 16, the "Hibun 2004 concept" was published, and products complying with the ISMS authentication standard (*) will be added one after another in preparation for full enforcement of "The Act for Protection of Computer Processed Personal Data" in April 2005. Addition of the new "Hibun AE WebGuard" to the series will prevent information leak from Intranet Web contents. The planned sales of "Hibun AE WebGuard" in the first year are for 100,000 licenses mainly to the users of "Hibun Advanced Edition". (*) Established as the Japanese information security standard based on British standard BS7799.

(2) Simple addition of this software product will easily prevent information disclosure without the need of modifying the existing Web server.
(3) Microsoft Internet Explorer can be used as the browser. It is not necessary to learn any special operation method for access to the Web server.
