- New English-Based Product "Hibun AE DesignGuard" for Preventing Disclosure of Drawing and Other Engineering Information -
HitachiSoft (Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. based in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo with Takeo Ogawa as the CEO and president) launches "Hibun AE DesignGuard", a new product based on the previously released "Hibun 2004 Concept". It prevents engineering information disclosure in case of job subcontracting to any external parties. Hibun series is a line of best-selling products accounting for as many as 250,000 licenses that have been adopted by security-sensitive banking and public organizations as well as many private companies. In globalizing businesses, prevention of engineering information at overseas locations has become very important in addition to domestic information security measures. Especially in the manufacturing industry, it is necessary to prevent disclosure of technical information in drawings and other documents distributed to outside manufacturers. The "Hibun AE DesignGuard" provides the solution in this regard. This product is to be delivered from the end of July, with a sales target of 10,000 licenses for the initial year. The "Hibun AE DesignGuard" is aimed at manufacturing companies having global manufacturing locations in Japan and abroad. Its main objective is to prevent information disclosure from subcontractors. It is, therefore, planned to develop business through tie-ups with partners having overseas system installation and service support locations for the sales, installation and service support of the "Hibun AE DesignGuard". This product is based on English language for easy use not only by domestic companies but also by their overseas subsidiaries and subcontractors.
2. Capsulated files allow viewing with an exclusive viewer to prevent file viewing by third parties because of the need of user authentication at the time of activation.
3. Printing is possible only by the authorized users, and it is possible to cut & paste with the exclusive viewer.
4. Users' file viewing records are logged to allow file viewing users and the date/time information to be searched.
5. Setting the validity of capsulated files to disable viewing of expired files and delete them from the disk is possible. The engineering information (drawing information by TIFF files and MS-OFFICE data) is capsulated, and files are invalidated for security.
