- Implementation of Total Security Management -
HitachiSoft (Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. based in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo with Takeo Ogawa the CEO and president) has developed a new series named "Hibun Advanced Edition Ver.07 (hereinafter called AE Ver.07) complying with the Hibun 2004 concept for management from introduction to operation , monitoring and reviewing of an information security system, and will start marketing from November 2004. The new "Hibun AE Ver.07" series provides product components for all phases of the Plan-Do-Check- Action (PDCA) management cycle defined in the ISMS certification standard (*1) for the "Hibun 2004" concept pre-released in June 2004. While the current "Hibun 2004" series is configured with the priority given to the enforcement and management of security measures (Do), the new series is a total information security management system to cover grasping the status quo and planning the policy (Plan), grasping security measure enforcement status (Check), and review of security measures (Action). You can introduce the new series products designed for different purposes gradually as required for spiral up to the total security management system in the final stage.

Hibun AE Ver.07 realizes the concepts of Hibun2004 s follows:

Assists listing of information assets important for security policy planning.
- Hibun AE Secure Inspector: Collects information on software assets for Intranet PCs.
- Hibun AE PortDiscovery: Collects information on hardware connected to Intranet.
Realized information security measures such as enciphering, authentication, and access control according to the established policy.
- Hibun AE Information Cypher: Provides encyphering for PCs and external media.
- Hibun AE Information Share: Controls access to common file servers.
- Hibun AE Information Fortress: Controls take-out from PCs to external media, etc.
- Hibun AE DesignGuard: Controls access to confidential information such as drawings.
- Hibun AE MailGuard: Controls mail transmission with attached files.
- Hibun AE WebGuard: Controls access to the Intranet.
- Hibun AE Wiper: Perfectly erases information remaining on PCs to be scrapped.
Assists log analysis and evaluation upon execution and points out doubtful activities beforehand.

According to the log analysis result, warns and shuts off doubtful activities.
- Hibun AE Secure Inspector: Warns or forcibly rejects PCs without security measures.
- Hibun AE PortDiscovery: Forcibly rejects illegally connected PCs.
- Hibun AE server: Provides authentication, policy/log management, file server enciphering, etc.
- Hibun AE development kit: Provides API (*2) for building in the enciphering function.
HitachiSoft has also established the Hibun partner authorization system for closer tie-up with partner corporations so as to provide customers with a safer and more reliable security infrast ructure. HibunAE series provides security functions to prevent information disclosure from client PCs with "no disclosure when taken out", "disabling take-out" and "protection by access control as main concepts. It has been adopted by banking organs, public entities and many other companies. It has become the best-selling security software, amounting to 300,000 licenses (as of the end of July 2004). One million licenses are planned as the sales target until the end of this fiscal year with the addition of the new Hibun AE Ver.07 series.
