TOKYO, June 2, 2005-HitachiSoft will launch the Hibun Management Edition (ME) this August, a new product series that seamlessly combines the necessary product lines for security management, in order to realize Hibun's concept of the Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) criteria required for information security management system (ISMS) certification. In addition to the new Hibun Secure Inspector Scan Option product that enables the retrieval and gathering of personal information from client PCs, the Hibun ME series supports a broad range of measures from the concrete tasks of encryption and information removal control, to the security management tools of auditing and correction. In this way, Hibun has created an even stronger total security management system.

Corporate handling of personal information has become an increasingly important issue after the full-scale implementation of the Personal Information Protection Law on April 1, 2005, which requires stronger measures for personal information security. The awareness of companies about personal information security has also been heightened by the rapid popularization of security systems that aim to prevent leakage of personal information. In the future, importance will be placed not just on the handling of personal information, but also on the handling of corporate information such as trade secrets and confidential company information, as corporate assets that need to be protected. The soon to be released Hibun ME series continually ascertains, monitors, and audits the company's IT assets, and provides support for stronger corporate security management.

With the goal of better security management that complies with the whole PDCA cycle, HitachiSoft has reorganized its previous management support products while investing in new management support products, for stronger security management support. In order to perform the "plan, check, and action" phases of the PDCA cycle, the Hibun ME series continually operates and manages security measures such as the ascertaining of asset information on the company's network infrastructure, auditing and analysis of logs, and the compulsory implementation of policies. For the "do" phase of the PDCA cycle, the management required by these security policies is realized through seamless interface with Hibun Advanced Edition (AE).

The Hibun series has become a best-selling software product for information security with 1.2 million licenses (as of April 30, 2005) delivered to numerous companies. In the future, HitachiSoft is aiming for a cumulative sales target of 2 million Hibun licenses by the end of this fiscal year, by promoting total information security systems based on the company's twin product series for security measures and security management.
