TOKYO, August 31, 2005-HitachiSoft has added a new product, Hibun AE CopyGuard, which prevents secondary information leakage, to its Hibun AE series for implementing securi ty measures and preventing information leakage. The company has also enhanced the feat ures of its existing products and will begin sales on August 31, 2005 of a new version, Hibun Ver. 7.5, including the Hibun ME series, which implements security measures continuously for operations, administration, and auditing, originally released in June 2005.
With the coming into full force of the Personal Information Protection Law on April 1, 2005 and the repeated incidents of personal information leakage that have occurred, the handling of personal information by companies has become more and more important. In addition, a proposed partial amendment to the Unfair Competition Prevention Law will be put into effect on November 1, 2005, and the handling of "trade secret" information, a key company asset that should be protected, will become more important.
The new version of Hibun is designed to deliver a security system that conforms to all phases of the ISMS authentication standard Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) security management cycle, and has as its two main enhancements the improved features of the Hibun AE series, which is focused on countermeasures against the leakage of informati on assets, and the Hibun ME series, which implements security management such as assessment of asset information on the company's network infrastructure as well as the compulsory implementation of log auditing and analysis, and policies.
In the Hibun AE series, Hibun AE CopyGuard has been added to the lineup as a product that implements secondary leakage prevention by requiring the use of a special-purpose software tool when an employee takes a USB memory device outside company premises, such as to a home, to do work like copying and editing. In new enhancements to the existing Hibun AE products, CD-R encryption support for media distributions outside the company has been added to Hibun AE Information Cypher, a function for the acquisition of administrator's operating logs (such as of user update operations on the server) has been added to Hibun AE Server, and stronger controls to prevent copying of information to CDs and DVDs has been added to Hibun AE Information Fortress.
The Hibun series has been adopted by many companies and is becoming an information security software best seller, with a record of 1.5 million licenses shipped (as of the end of July 2005).
It is evolving into a system that offers total security against information leakage by implementing security measures and security management for information leakage, HitachiSoft has established a sales target of a total of two million licenses by the end of the current fiscal year.
