HitachiSoft Rounds Out StarBoard Line of Interactive Whiteboards with
Industry’s Largest Plasma Displays

HitachiSoft’s new StarBoard models excel at displaying high resolution CAD data and video

TOKYO, June 11, 2008 - HitachiSoft today released two new models of its StarBoard series of interactive whiteboards, the StarBoard PX-DUO-65 with 65-inch plasma display and StarBoard PX-DUO-50 with 50-inch plasma display. HitachiSoft is taking orders immediately for the latest models.

The new models both utilize plasma display technology to deliver crisp, vivid images. In addition to their suitability for meetings and conferences, the new StarBoard models are ideal for a broad range of applications from design reviews using high resolution CAD data, to high quality video playback and classes and seminars. Two persons can simultaneously write on the whiteboard, which can be operated using any of three methods: by electronic pen, touchscreen or laser pointer-pen.

Over 80,000 StarBoard systems have been sold to customers in more than 60 countries worldwide. The new StarBoard PX-DUO-65 and PX-DUO-50 models will be released in all markets to enterprise and education customers, with a sales target of 1,000 systems in the first fiscal year of release.

Interactive whiteboards have been widely adopted by schools and corporations for many applications ranging from classroom display of electronic teaching materials and digital content, to the effective use of digital data from PCs for meetings and presentations.

In addition to their interactive whiteboard features, HitachiSoft’s StarBoard systems provide data sharing capabilities and can also be used for videoconferencing. StarBoard interactive whiteboards give users the ability to conduct remote conferencing with other users anywhere in the world, excelling at situations in which users need to accurately convey information, whether to share information on system failure or engage in design reviews. In addition, StarBoard systems reduce the need for travel, which saves time and money and helps reduce CO2 emissions, while reducing the need for printouts and enabling faster decision-making. The newly released PX-DUO series models feature picture-in-picture (PIP) display for simultaneous display of PC screen data and videoconferencing images shared through StarBoard software, and high resolution videoconferencing in full HD 1080p resolution.
